RE - Special Ways of Living - Muslim Prayer!
In this engaging lesson, students are introduced to how Muslims pray. They consider the rituals that these people follow and the reasons behind their processes.
The learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through the following step-by-step journey:
-Recalling their prior learning about how Christians and Buddhists live in special ways;
-Learning about the Muslim ritual of praying 5 times a day, and consider their own daily cycles;
-Learn other key facts about Muslim prayer, for example how they are called to prayer and the rituals that they follow - aided by the use of interesting videos (hyperlinked);
-Comparing and contrasting how Muslims pray compared with other religions;
-Self-reflecting on the extent to which they feel they have met the learning objectives.

Judaism - Moses - Themes of Slavery and Liberty in Egypt - Lesson!
In this engaging lesson, students are introduced to the historical context in which the Jewish people were enslaved in ancient Egypt. They consider the themes of slavery and liberty and how these relate to the subject matter.
The learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through the following step-by-step journey:
-Knowledge harvesting - gauging what children already know about the life of Moses;
-Defining and discussing the key themes of slavery and liberty - including why slavery is considered wrong and its impact on people;
-Watching a short video (hyperlinked) about the enslavement of the Jewish people in Egypt;
-Engaging with Bible quotes from Exodus 1, to further their understanding of the Jewish enslavement;

The Theme of Peace - Assembly
This fun and original assembly assists children in understanding the value of peace, through:
Understanding what peace is, and recognising why it is important;
Looking at examples of behaviour that is peaceful and not peaceful and considering what can be done to promote peace;
Learning strategies to demonstrate peacefulness in their own lives.
This session is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people.
The session also includes a link to a powerful and engaging video, showing children how their small input can help to create peace in the world. Furthermore, there are interesting scenarios (with scripts provided) that enable children to consider how to act peacefully in different situations. Various discussion prompts are also presented, to enable children to understand how peace can be a force for good in their own lives.
The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included to pages of notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!
RE Special Ways of Living - The Good Samaritan!
In this engaging lesson, students develop their understanding of how Christianity teaches Christians to live their lives. They consider their routines and actions, and how these impact on others. They then learn about the story of the Good Samaritan, and consider the key messages that can be learnt from this.

Buddhist Monks and Worship - Non Fiction Whole Class Reading Session!
This whole class reading session aims to develop children’s comprehension skills through a reading of a non-fiction text about Buddhist monks and worship.
The resource pack includes the full text and all of the activities for the session, which the class are guided through via a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation. This is followed by a series of activities aiming to develop children’s retrieval, explanation, inference, prediction and summarising skills. It also contains a vocabulary check immediately after the extract is read to clarify any unfamiliar/ difficult language.
The tasks are comprised of quick-check questions, solo thinking, pair/ group discussions and deeper thinking activities.
The session is best suited for children in KS2, although with minor adaptations it could feasibly be used with slightly older year groups.
The Story of the Buddha - Whole Class Reading Session!

RE - Introduction to Islam!
In this engaging and comprehensive lesson, students are introduced to the religion of Islam. They find out a number of key introductory facts about Islam, including:
-Who follows Islam;
-Some of the things that they believe;
-Where and how they worship;
-Their sacred places and texts.
Children learn through collating their collective prior knowledge, watching an interesting video (hyperlinked) and recording the key information, and exploring more information about the Qur’an, mosques and the Prophet Muhammad using a list of approved websites. They conclude by comparing what they have found out about Islam with what they know about Christianity.

What is the Holy Trinity? (fully-resourced enquiry-led RE unit!)
This resource pack contains all of the presentations, worksheets and activities needed to teach an engaging and progressive 6-week enquiry-led RE unit of learning. This unit aims to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to answer the big question: ‘What is the Holy Trinity?’
The unit is broken down into 6 sessions:
Three Persons in One God;
God the Father part 1 - Creation and the Old Testament;
God the Father part 2 - The Ten Commandments;
God the Son - The Baptism of Jesus Christ;
God the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is sent after the Death of Jesus;
Assessment Lesson (assessment provided).
All of the resources are provided to teach each lesson (in the past we have taught them as double lessons and spread into 12 separate sessions) and each presentation contains key questions through the 3 lenses of theology, philosophy and human/social sciences. Worksheets are provided in both Word (to allow editing) and PDF (to protect formatting).
Each session contains knowledge recall based on learning from prior in the unit, a range of worksheet/ video/ creative resources to enhance engagement and a return to the enquiry question in the reflection section of the lesson.
These resources are tried and tested and best suited to children in years 3 and 4. They are aligned with the age-related expectations used by the vast majority of regions/ diocese boards.
When downloaded, the resources will be open in the download and also copied within the zip file.
The Bible - Respect for the Bible!
In this engaging and informative lesson, students learn about the different ways in which the Bible influences our daily lives. They also learn how different Christian denominations look after the Bible. They learn through:

In this engaging and informative lesson, students learn how Christians may interpret the Bible differently. They learn about the meaning of ‘liberal’ and ‘fundamentalist’ Christians, and understand how these two viewpoints influence interpretations of different Bible stories. They learn through:

The Bible - The Creation Story!
In this engaging and informative lesson, students learn about the Creation Story and how it is interpreted by Christians. They learn through:

-Defining the term ‘natural world’ and differentiating between natural and man-made phenomena;
-Watching a clear and engaging video about the Creation Story from Genesis 1;
-Answering comprehension questions about the story and completing a storyboard to show what happens at each stage;
-Examining the aspects of the story that appear to inconsistent scientifically, and questioning why this may be;
-Considering how fundamentalist Christians and liberal Christians may interpret the story in different ways.
